Medicinal Foods

Today most “modern” diets entail a large acidic intake. This is the root cause of most disease. Foods to avoid would include sugar, soda, grains, processed foods, high-protein foods, and supplements. While most people today consume these foods. They are unaware that they are causing harm to themselves. Instead of eating mindlessly it is important to be mindful of what you are eating and why.  Fortunately, there are many foods that can help alkalize (restore PH balance) your body, while also protecting you from the free radicals created from a highly acidic diet. A diet based on plant foods is a sure bet in gaining a healthier life. Although not common knowledge, there are also plant proteins that are included in this diet. Legumes, Spirulina, Chia Seeds, Broccoli, Quinoa, Hemp Seeds, Almonds, Sunflower, Sesame, and Poppy seeds are all great sources of protein to include in your plant-based diet. Other foods to include in your nutrient-rich diet are: fresh/raw vegetables, organ meats (chicken liver) & bone broth, probiotic foods (yogurt, kombucha, kefir), omega-3-foods (salmon, sardines, halibut, walnuts, flaxseeds, chia seeds), healthy fats (berries, raw cocoa, acai), and High Fiber Foods (avocados, coconut, berries, sprouted legumes). Organic vegetables and grass fed/pastured-raised meats are ideal for a nutrient dense diet. Consuming foods with antioxidants is a great way to extinguish free radical from your body. Free radical are naturally created within our body but having many “unstable molecules” will cause disease and illness; otherwise known as oxidation. It is important to be mindful in what you consume. In doing so you will become a better student.
